Introduction

UR 6-128 POA, potassium permanganate replacement, is an eco-friendly decolorizing agent that does not contain PP Cl、Br、Formaldyhide、APEO, Iodine or Bromine compounds, halogens or heavy metals and is used for local treatment of denim clothing.

UR 6-128 POA is an alternative to potassium permanganate in denim washing with much reduced danger and minimum environmental impact.

It is a ready-to-use product, and easy to achieve a localized decolorization effect on denim garments. Applicable to various fabrics, whether containing stretch yarn or not, and whether indigo or vulcanized, it will all bring outstanding results.

Thanks to its physical and chemical properties, UR 6-128 POA meets the requirements of proper handling and the Nimbus process (Huntsman), which involves atomization in a closed system. Direct spray with a spray gun is recommended prior to hand brush with sponges, brushes, glove. Not recommended for direct spray onto greige denim.

Application Methods

UR 6-128 POA can be sprayed on the dry denim fabrics or sprayed into the water on the washing machine. No special pre-treatment is required on the fabrics prior to application, other than hand rubbing or laser treatment.

UR 6-128 POA is typically applied topically with a spray gun. Depending on the desired effect and factory conditions, sponges, brushes, gloves, or immersion methods can also be used to achieve different treatment goals.

After treatment, put the denim garments at room temperature for at least 15 minutes to allow the product to fully react.

Before the subsequent washings, it is essential to perform a thorough and correct neutralization process as follows:

●  Treat with 2-3g/L of Special White It + 2-3g/L of hydrogen peroxide at 45°C for 10 minutes.

● Rinse

●  Treat with 2-3g/L of sodium metabisulfite at 45°C for 10 minutes( also can use our UR-DeChlor Plus to replace sodium metabisulfite).

This ensures excellent whiteness and lasting uniformity. If the fabric is severely discolored, we recommend to add an appropriate anti-back-staining agent to the last two-step neutralization process.

Dosage

UR 6-128 POA can be ready-to-use product. When apply, dilute it upon the following recipe:
UR 6-128 POA 85%
Water 15%

For fabrics that are difficult to spray white, we recommend to replace water with the same proportion of Booster OW ( it is Huntsman’s activator) as in the above recipe.

Recommend to use UR 6-128 POA with a spray gun. The specific dosage may vary depending on the desired effects and the fabrics. Normally, 30-80g UR 6-128 POA is used for one pc of denim garment. For a heavier effect, use a microfiber glove for spot application.

Notes:

Considering the fabric type and different process, it’s always recommended to run preliminary tests to increase the likelihood of achieving the desired final results.

Since blends of UR 6-128 POA and Huntsman’s booster ow are not stable, we always recommend make the re-formulated products before use, and not keep the diluted products for long time.

Some plastic and metal containers (or accessories) are sensitive to UR 6-128 POA. If possible, use only high-density polyethylene or stainless containers, or at least check the stability in advance.

Exposure of UR 6-128 POA to high temperatures for extended periods of time will prevent the product from achieving optimal results or accelerate its reaction, potentially damaging the fabric’s strength and elasticity. While waiting for the product to activate, keep the garment at room temperature, but avoid waiting more than four hours before neutralizing. We always recommend evaluating the most appropriate conditions in advance, considering the fabric type and application.

The handling of this product must comply with industrial safety and health regulations. Please read and follow the MSDS provided by us carefully when using it, and use necessary protective tools.
